For sale direct from the owners!

This charming townhouse has been designed and renovated to a very high standard. Set across 4 floors, the layout of the property has been created to make the most of the light available and the cooling summer breeze. The bedrooms are located on the lower floors as these will be the cooler levels whereas the living space has been placed on the upper floors to benefit from more light and the fresh breezes available.

The current owners have taken care to renovate the property in a sensitive way to retain many of the traditional features of the property yet create a comfortable and modern interior layout and feel.

The renovation was comprehensive and included renovation of the façade, reforming walls and floors, replacement of plumbing and electrics throughout, upgrading and renewal of the roof including insulation (whilst retaining the original character of the roof), installation of PVC wood effect French windows with double glazing and fly screens, installation of new kitchen and bathrooms and the creation of a lightwell to allow light into the rear of the building together with a small patio.

Where possible the owners created a stylish blend of original features and character by retaining wooden ceiling beams and stonework but with a modern twist to the presentation of the property. The spaces are bright and airy and the property has been designed and decorated to enhance the natural light throughout.

Layout of this cleverly designed town house…

The ground floor contains a spacious entrance hall with built in storage incorporating shelving, a washing machine and refrigerator/freezer. To the rear of the ground floor is located a double bedroom with a window facing onto the lightwell and an en-suite shower room.

The property is south-east facing so enjoys sunshine in the mornings and shade in the hot afternoons.

The street is narrow so we wouldn’t advise parking on it, although some of our neighbours do but it is accessible for loading and offloading and there is free parking available at the end of the street, less than 100 m distance.

Maella is a village on the banks of the Matarraña river, located in the Bajo Aragón-Caspe comarca in the province of Zaragoza, Aragon. It has been populated since the 1200s. Current population of approximately 2,000.

Maella is a friendly and welcoming village. It has been attracting people from the UK, other Europeans and non-Europeans to the countryside surrounding it for a number of years now where people tend to buy almacens to renovate for vacationing and a small number have also bought townhouses in the village. In spite of this, Maella retains a distinctly Spanish air. In the main Plaza d’España, which is presided over by the town hall with its fifteenth century clock tower, there are three bars with outdoor seating where people gather to enjoy alfresco eating and drinking and this area is the focus for many of the activities which take place during the annual fiesta in August and other times throughout the year.

The sculptor Pablo Gargallo was born in Maella in 1881. His family home has been converted into a museum and there is also a museum in Zaragoza dedicated to his works. There are two medieval churches and the ruins of a 15th century castle.

The region is agricultural and produces olives and almonds and soft fruits: peaches, nectarines, cherries and plums. It is a thriving town with many people of all ages
